Public_Works_Snow Removal

This is a reminder that the sidewalk maintenance and repair are the homeowner's responsibility and during the winter months it is important to clear the sidewalks of snow.

Edgewater Park Township Ordinance 12.12.010 requires the owner to remove snow, hail, sleet or ice from the sidewalk within 12 hours of daylight after it has ceased to fall. If a crossing guard crosses children in front of your home, it is also your responsibility to shovel a path to the crosswalk for safe passage across the street.

Please be further advised that you are not permitted to place snow, hail, sleet, or ice, when removed from your sidewalk back in the street or roadway. It is important to keep free passage of water along the gutters.

Parking during snow emergency:
In order that the public works department has the opportunity to clear the streets of snow no vehicle shall be allowed to park in the roadway whenever there is snowfall of two inches or whenever snow is falling and there is a prediction of two or more inches of snowfall. Vehicles may be parked on your lawn for a period of 48 hours after snowfall ceases.
